先週から始めたウイスキーのご紹介
今週は、言わずと知れたシングルモルトの代表格
ザ・グレンリベット蒸留所 の「ザ・グレンリベット」
ゲール語で「静かな谷」を意味するその名の通り、1824年にジョージ・スミスがスコットランド・スペイサイドで創業した、政府公認第1号の蒸留所から生まれたウイスキーです
“すべてのシングルモルトの原点”とも称されています
熟成には「セカンドフィル」と呼ばれる、一度使用された樽を使用
原酒そのものの個性を生かしながら、角の取れたまろやかな味わいに仕上がっています
少し難しい説明になりましたが
ひと言でいうと、とても柔らかく、フルーティ
バニラや蜂蜜を思わせる優しい甘さがあり、ウイスキーを初めて試す方にもおすすめの一本です

Continuing from last week’s whisky introduction, this week we’re featuring a true classic among single malts — The Glenlivet Distillery’s “The Glenlivet.”
True to its name, which means “the quiet valley” in Gaelic, this whisky comes from the first distillery in Scotland to be officially licensed by the government, founded in 1824 by George Smith in Speyside.
It is often referred to as “the origin of all single malts.”
For maturation, it uses what are called “second-fill” casks — barrels that have been used once before.
This allows the character of the spirit itself to shine through, resulting in a smooth, rounded flavor.
That may sound a bit technical, but simply put — it’s very gentle and fruity.
With soft notes of vanilla and honey-like sweetness, it’s an excellent choice even for those trying whisky for the first time.
