今週は、厚岸蒸溜所の「秋分」をご紹介します。 二十四節気をテーマに、季節の移ろいと厚岸の風土をウイスキーに映してきた「二十四節気シリーズ」。 2020年に始まったこのシリーズも、今回の「秋分」でついに第24弾。約6年にわたる物語の、グランドフィナーレとなる一本です。 秋分は、昼と夜の長さがほぼ等しくなる頃。夏から秋へ、季節が静かに移り変わっていく節目です。 そして厚岸の「秋分」は、北海道産大麦を使用したシングルモルト。蜂蜜カステラのような甘さに、オレンジ、八朔、ライム、レモンなどの柑橘。そこから、すりおろした生姜やホワイトペッパーの穏やかな刺激、グレープフルーツのようなほろ苦さへと続きます。 厚岸らしいピートを感じながらも、柑橘の明るさと甘み、そして最後に残るビターな余韻。 季節の節目に、ぜひ一杯！ This week, we’re introducing Akkeshi “Shubun.” For nearly six years, Akkeshi Distillery has followed Japan’s traditional 24 Solar Terms, expressing the changing seasons and the character of Akkeshi through whisky.
