今週はTalisker “Wilder Seas”のご紹介です。
スコットランド・スカイ島にあるタリスカー蒸留所による限定ボトルです。
環境団体 Parley for the Oceans との共同リリースで、売上の一部が海洋保護活動に寄付されています。ボトルには100％リサイクルガラスが使われており、環境への配慮も込められています。
熟成の仕上げにはフレンチオークの XO コニャック樽が用いられ、タリスカーらしい力強さにやわらかな丸みが加わっています。
香りは潮風や黒胡椒、軽いスモークに、ドライフルーツやトフィーのような甘やかなニュアンス。
味わいは海塩とスパイスに、リンゴやプラムの果実感が重なり、余韻には胡椒と海藻を思わせる塩気が穏やかに残ります。
アルコール度数は48.6％、ノンエイジ仕様。
タリスカーの個性をそのままに、コニャック樽由来の厚みと甘みを感じられる一本です。
This is a limited-edition release from the Talisker distillery on Scotland’s Isle of Skye. It’s created in collaboration with the environmental non-profit Parley for the Oceans, and a portion of each bottle’s sales is donated to marine conservation. The bottle is made from 100 % recycled glass, reflecting the brand’s commitment to the sea.
The whisky is finished in French-oak XO cognac casks — a first for Talisker — which adds a bit more roundness to its typically bold profile. On the nose, you’ll find sea air, black pepper and light smoke, with hints of dried fruits and toffee. On the palate there’s sea salt and spice, joined by apple and plum fruit notes, and the finish lingers with pepper and a briny sea-weed-like saltiness.
It’s 48.6 % ABV and carries no age statement. You’ll recognise the classic Talisker character, yet you’ll also notice the added depth and sweetness from the cognac-cask finish.
