Even as bar miyako celebrates Negroni Week next door, bar miyako living would like to feature the Old Pal this week for the simple reason that it is one of JJ’s favorites.
Rye whiskey brings a spicy backbone, dry vermouth adds layered complexity, and Campari ties it all together with its signature bittersweet edge. The result is crisp and focused, yet intriguingly complex cocktail, which maintains the approachability of a Negroni, but with a sharper, drier character.
Often overshadowed by its famous cousin, the Old Pal shines here for its straightforward charm. Sometimes, the best reason to choose a cocktail is simply because you love it.
