大好きなバーボン「ブラントン」のご紹介です。シングルバレル製法によって樽ごとの個性がしっかりと活かされた芳醇な味わいはもちろんのこと、それ以外にも惚れポイント満載のバーボンです。
まず、ボトルキャップにはケンタッキーダービーにちなんだサラブレッドの姿が。全部で8種類あり、それぞれに「BLANTON’S」のアルファベットが刻まれています。順番に並べると、競走馬がスタートし、疾走し、ゴールするまでの流れを再現できるという、コレクター心をくすぐる仕様。
そして、映画好きにはおなじみですが、ブラントンといえば『ジョン・ウィック』。第一作ではモルヒネの代わりにスタンダードラベルを、第二作ではイタリア・ローマのホテルでグリーンラベルのスペシャルリザーブを口にするシーンが登場します。このグリーンラベルは、実はヨーロッパ輸出向けに造られた特別仕様。映画の中で登場するのも納得です。

This week we’re featuring one of our all-time favorites: Blanton’s Bourbon—the rich and smooth single barrel bourbon that’s full of flavor and character.
Beyond the taste, Blanton’s is known for its collectible bottle stoppers, each featuring a racehorse and jockey in a different stride. There are 8 in total, each engraved with a letter from “BLANTON’S.” Line them up, and you’ve got a miniature horse race from start to finish—a perfect touch for bourbon lovers and collectors alike.
Movie fans will also recognize Blanton’s as John Wick’s painkiller of choice. In the first film, he reaches for the standard label instead morphine after a brutal fight, while in the second film, you’ll spot him drinking the green label Special Reserve in his Rome Continental hotel room. That version is actually made specifically for export to Europe—making its appearance in Italy all the more fitting.
